Welcome to Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County
As 2009 draws to a close, the board, staff, and members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County wish to thank the many children, parents, community members, organizations, foundations, and businesses who have made our work possible for over 50 years! wholesale clothing We are honored to be a part of this dynamic community and are hopeful that as the new year approaches you will continue to show your support for the hundreds of children and youth who call our Clubs their second home.

In these challenging economic times, parents in our community are struggling to make ends meet; nearly 40% of the families we serve are low-income or living below the poverty line. For a nominal annual membership fee of only $25 they know they can count on the Boys & Girls Club for support, and they do… Each day after school and during the summer months over 450 young people receive help from our talented and dedicated staff to explore their creative interests, complete their homework, advance their technology skills, and improve their health, leadership, and social skills - ALL WHILE HAVING FUN ! Our programs help children develop a -

ü Sense of Competence – the feeling there is something they can do, and do well.

ü Sense of Usefulness – the opportunity to do something of value for other people.

ü Sense of Belonging – a setting where they know they “fit” and are accepted.

ü Sense of Power & Influence- a chance to be heard and to influence decisions.

For parents, knowing that their children have an engaging, affordable, and supportive place to be in the critical non school hours – the hours when young people need us the most - is crucial! With your support in 2010 over 3,000 children and youth will continue to have a safe place to learn and grow.
